Contrary to negative press reports about Haiti, some good news about progress in Haiti from Sean Penn. This article appeared on the Wall Street Journal on June 18, 2014. A response followed on June 25 from former US ambassador to Haiti, Ernest Preeg,and current chairman of the Haiti Democracy Project. He reports substantial increase in private investment. From 2009 to 2013, imports of Haitian textiles to the USA increased by 56%. This compares with 10% for the Dominican Republic, 23% for Honduras, and 20% for Guatemala.
