Many of our children come to the SAES Home from difficult circumstances, including the Azile Communale in Mirebalais, living on the streets, or facing extreme poverty with their families. Some are referred by Haitian agencies, and others are brought by UN workers who had to leave the Dominican Republic.
At the SAES Home, our dedicated staff of six adults, including an English tutor, provides round-the-clock care to 27-30 children on average. We’re not just a residence; we’re a family, ensuring that every child feels loved, supported, and valued.
Our children are thriving in their new environment, responding well to the loving care of our staff. Many of them excel academically, with several being at the top of their class in school. It’s a testament to the nurturing environment we’ve created, where children can flourish and reach their full potential.
Through transformative efforts, children once trapped in cycles of poverty are now thriving in school, communities previously parched now drink clean water, and families empowered by sustainable jobs share stories of hope reborn.
