Building is about to begin! Thanks to you, soon the youth of Mirebalais will have a place to go where they can create their own brighter future. Haiti Micah vocational-005Project is beginning this fall with an exciting opportunity. For several years, you have heard about plans for a vocational school to serve the youth of the program. Currently, boys and girls in the feeding program and SAES home have the opportunity to learn carpentry and painting through a local master craftsman. Their shop is outdoors, wherever they can find space and with whatever materials are at hand. This simple effort has resulted in colorful pieces of art that the children have shared as gifts and testaments to their new skills. There is so much more you can do to further their education.

You all, the supporters of HMP, have enabled us to collect $75,000 toward our goal of $110,000 for building the vocational school! This is an amazing blessing and witness! Only $35,000 to go!

We thank those who have already contributed to the vocational school fund, and we ask that you spread the word about the final push. Do you have friends or family, or know of organizations, that want to contribute to creating opportunities for youth in Haiti? Send us a message online or via email at info@haiti-micah.org and tell us how we can reach out to them.

A Virginia firm donated their time to assess and design a vocational school building on the ground we have set aside (design pictured above). This two-story building will house ample space for wood-working, sewing classes, a shop to sell products made there, and an office. As the program grows, we will be able to expand the types of classes offered. As a result of your help, construction is planned to begin in November!
