I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude to the Taratibu Youth Association (TYA).  In July, the group traveled to Haiti and spent quality time with the children of the Haiti Micah Project.  Lemence Charite, SAES volunteer administrator, described this group’s visit as a wonderful gift that offered the children great joy.  The young people of TYA have left their mark in Mirebalais and I give God thanks that they were able to share God’s love with their brothers and sisters in such a powerful way.

Dr. Yanique Edmond-Pierre writes, “The TYA is a young people’s performing arts company that uses the arts and community service to inspire hope, healing, cultural pride, and positive social change.  Since 2007, TYA performers, age 10-21, have shared the messages of faith, self-respect, personal responsibility, and resilience with schools, churches, and other community organizations.”

The TYA performed in Mirebalais after a long day of traveling.  Their performance was awe inspiring to the children, youth and adult volunteers of SAES.  The group also brought supplies and materials for the program.

I want to give a special thanks to Dr. Dominique Charlot-Swilley, Dr.Yanique Edmond-Pierre, the young people and all those who accompanied and supported the group’s travel.  I pray that God will continue to bless the TYA and your commitment to offer your gifts and talents in service.

Fr. Joseph Constant
