Since the earthquake, the number of children in the feeding program has more than doubled. Currently 450 children living in Mirebalais receive a nourishing hot meal each school day. It costs approximately $300 a year to feed one child. Since Hurricane Matthew, the cost of food is expected to rise.
The Feeding/Education Program also offers access to education to as many children as we can. For many families, even the entrance fee can prevent them from sending a child to school. In addition to the entrance fee, each child is required to have a uniform, shoes and school supplies.
tuition stipends, uniforms and basic health care. Currently 700 children look to us to cover needed educational expenses.
